Jessica Kass Infant and Toddler Center (ages 6 weeks to 3 years)

The Jessica Kass Center Infant and Toddler Center was established to address the overwhelming need for a safe, quality, nurturing environment for our community's youngest and most vulnerable members. Our student teacher ratio in the Jessica Kass Center is three to one.

Toddler Preschool (ages 24 months to 36 months, part-time only)

The toddler preschool program is a developmental program, for toddlers ages 24 months to 36 months, offering a Montessori approach to learning, using hands-on activities in practical life and sensorial materials.

Children's House (ages 3 to 6 years)

Dr. Montessori characterized the 3 to 6 year-old child as possessing an extraordinary capacity, the ability to literally absorb information from his or her surroundings.  Dr. Montessori named this quality "the absorbent mind".  Its reality has been further documented by recent neurological research.  Three-to-six year-old children are sensorial explorers, soaking in every aspect of the environment, including language and culture.

Dr. Montessori recognized the motto of this aged child to be "help me to do it myself."  Children's development during this period focuses on learning to be independent.  The corresponding educational environment, then, should support this natural drive, enabling children to become competent, and therefore, confident.

The Montessori method embraces the full development of children, addressing all aspects (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual) of the whole child.
