Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.

Teacher Education Program (TEP)

CMEC has always been and continues to be a leader in high quality early childhood education. Our Early Childhood Teacher Education Program consists of approximately 307 academic hours.

In addition to lectures, demonstrations, and practice, time will be devoted to collaborative learning. Expectations and requirements will be shared with students prior to entering the program and during orientation day at the opening of the course.

Included in the course fee are all resource materials and additional reading handouts.  Additional supplies and reference books will be the responsibility of the student.  Opportunities to purchase books and supplies at reduced rates will be provided at the beginning of the course.  Many books are available for borrowing in the Teacher Education Program Office.

A formal contract will be issued upon acceptance into the program.  The finance office at Columbus Montessori Education Center will handle all tuition and payment information.  Full payment is due prior to the start of the program in July unless student selects a payment plan.
